About TruthRank

How TruthRank works

TruthRank ranks the stories getting the most attention by how well they are confirmed, not by who is telling them.

What we do

We track the most-discussed news stories, check each one with Grok against independent, reliable outlets and primary sources, and publish a score showing how well the core claim is confirmed.

Every card lists the sources we used so you can check the work yourself.

How a score is built

Each story is scored on two things: its truth level (how strongly the evidence supports the core claim) and the number of independent confirmations.

We count independent confirmations only. A wire story that is rewritten or syndicated by other outlets counts once, not once per outlet.

Primary sources such as official statements, filings, court records and on-the-record sources weigh more than anonymous or secondhand reports. A score reflects the evidence at the time shown on the card and can change as the story develops.

Human review

Verification is assisted by AI, but nothing is published automatically. Every card is reviewed and approved by a person before it appears on this site.

Images

We do not use AI-generated images of real people. Images on TruthRank are screenshots of the sources themselves, credited on each card.

Neutrality

We do not take political sides, endorse candidates, or rank stories by viewpoint. The score measures confirmation, not whether a story is good or bad news for anyone.

Sports Desk

TruthRank Sports confirms binary, timestamped, publicly sourced facts such as injuries, lineups, postponements, weather, referees and coaching changes.

It is information confirmation only. We do not make picks or give betting advice. See the Disclaimer.
