Russian Strikes Leave About 280,000 Ukrainian Families Without Power

Russian strikes on Ukraine’s energy system left about 200,000 families in Dnipro and the surrounding region and more than 80,000 in the Kyiv region without electricity, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said Saturday. He said Shahed drones hit a combined heat and power plant in Kyiv on Friday evening, strikes hit four substations in the Dnipropetrovsk region overnight, and a drone struck a heat and power plant in Shostka near dawn. Rail infrastructure in Dnipro and Kharkiv and a gas distribution facility were also targeted. Repair crews were working to restore power.
