Israeli Police: No Evidence Election Was “Stolen”
Israeli police said Thursday they found no evidence to support Likud’s claim that Arab-led parties “stole” Tuesday’s election, and the Central Elections Committee’s acting director-general, Dean Livne, said the vote was conducted lawfully and that claims of systematic violations were baseless. Committee chair Justice Noam Sohlberg had asked the Shin Bet to examine suspected foreign funding and vote-buying; the agency said its review is limited and must not be used to discredit Arab voters. Qatar called the interference claims “ridiculous and dangerous.” Separately, police arrested seven people in a Negev vote-buying case.
